About the Role

At our locations in Vaihingen or Mannheim (Germany) or Bolton (United Kingdom), we are seeking an Area Controller EMEAI (m/f/d) for our General Industrial and Protective & Marine Coatings businesses. In this key role, you will provide financial leadership across multiple manufacturing facilities in the EMEAI region, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and deliver critical financial analyses to support operational decision‑making.

You will partner closely with plant operations, regional leadership, and enterprise finance to drive improvements in cost, productivity, and overall site performance. This is a high‑impact role supporting GI Liquid and P&M Liquid plants across Europe and India.


Aufgaben

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Oversee the monthly close process for all sites within scope.
  • Validate and review General Ledger entries according to the Enterprise Finance R&C calendar.
  • Ensure strong processes and controls around site financial performance.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with plant operations and regional leaders to support cost and productivity initiatives.
  • Coach GSC Field Finance teams to build financial and operational acumen.
  • Prepare and present monthly P&L variance reconciliations during operating reviews.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Support annual operating, S&E, and capital budget development across multiple facilities.
  • Partner with Plant Managers and Operations leaders to deliver accurate and timely budgets.

Cost & Capital Analysis

  • Support annual physical inventory processes.
  • Assist with cost‑reduction projects and provide ongoing variance insights.
  • Conduct and review ROI analysis for capital projects and contribute to the annual capital plan.

Continuous Improvement & CAPEX Tracking

  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement teams to deliver OP‑16 savings and Schedule G activities.
  • Organize and report CAPEX spend in partnership with project managers and Enterprise Capital Planning.
  • Lead or support special projects as needed.

Profil

Qualifications

  • ⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠⁠Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or Master´s degree and/or CPA/CMA certification
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating financial models, spreadsheets, and graphs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, managing issues, and driving collaboration with cross‑functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Prior experience with budgeting processes and financial systems (OneStream, Oracle).
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with scenario modeling and strategic financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
