The German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) is a body established by federal law representing the German statutory accident insurance institutions. Prevention, rehabilitation and financial compensation form the cornerstones of DGUV's tasks.

DGUV has been awarded a grant contract for the EU funded project: “EU Support for Health and Safety Analysis in China .”

The project seeks to address a more balanced competitive environment between the EU and China by supporting the alignment of occupational safety and health standards. This will be achieved through access to recognised methods and tools for Occupational Safety / Occupational Health data collection and analysis, enabling a clearer understanding of the causes of work-related accidents and health issues and, where possible, developing interventions of regulatory or technical nature.

Desk Officer in Beijing (P.R. China)
50% of a full-time position (max. 32 month and depending on the project duration, currently until 31 January 2029)


Aufgaben

The Desk Officer will assist the Project Manager with desktop research and project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager and Programme Officer
  • Maintain relationships with project partners
  • Contributing to the preparation of reposts
  • Preparation of texts, tables, graphics and presentations
  • Contributing to communication and administration
  • Supporting the development of data collection and analysis in the field of occupational safety and health (OSH)
  • Exchange with Chinese partner institutions on ongoing data collections
  • Organisation of events
  • Track timelines and deliverables
  • Further tasks according to instructions

Profil

Qualifications and skills

  • University degree of at least three years or equivalent degree in a discipline relevant to the scope of the assignment, such as occupational safety and health (OSH).
  • Ability to identify, organise, provide and manage technical input and support to project activities.
  • Strong analytical skills and computer literacy.
  • Proven excellent report writing and communication skills in English and Mandarin (native speaker).

General professional experience

  • Minimum 3 years of general professional experience, ideally with an EU financed project.
  • Experience in an international environment is an asset.

Specific professional experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in the field of capacity building and training in the field of data collection and analysis.
  • Previous work experience in China is required.
  • Experience in working successfully with representatives of counterpart organisations in the field of expertise is an asset.
  • Knowledge on OSH data management in China
