The study programmes and academic portfolio of Hochschule der Medien Stuttgart (HdM) are unique in Europe, opening doors to the media industry as well as to companies, organisations, and public-sector institutions. to be filled at the earliest possible date. The position aims to evaluate and further develop the support situation for international students at the university and is therefore limited to three years and will be remunerated E10 in accordance with the collective agreement of the Länder (TV-L), depending on qualifications and experience.
Aufgaben
- Recruiting and advising prospective international students on study programmes, admission requirements, and application procedures
- Maintaining and continuously updating English-language web content relevant to the international application process
- Advising and supporting international applicants throughout the application, selection, and admission process
- Reviewing and evaluating international application documents as well as foreign school and university qualifications using recognised evaluation systems (e.g. Anabin), in close coordination with the responsible credential evaluation units
- Organising, coordinating, and implementing legally compliant admission and selection procedures, including preparation and participation in selection interviews
- Advising international students on study-related matters (e.g. visa and residence issues, health insurance, study financing, study planning, mandatory internships, and academic difficulties)
- Supporting the social, cultural, and academic integration of international students, including assistance with everyday matters (e.g. housing, part-time employment, childcare)
- Referring students to relevant authorities and appropriate counselling or specialist services in cases involving residence law, social, financial, legal, or psychosocial concerns
- Organising orientation programmes and coordinating buddy and mentoring schemes for new international students
- Preparing statistics and reports to monitor recruitment and support activities and contributing to the further development of strategic service offerings
- Contributing to process optimisation, coordination, and digitalisation within International Student Services & International Scholar Affairs
Profil
- Completed university degree, preferably with an international orientation, e.g. in Education, International Relations, Languages, Social Sciences, Business Administration/Management, or a comparable field
- International study experience and sound knowledge of international higher education systems
- Excellent command of English (C2) and very good command of German (C1), both written and spoken
- Experience working with international students or in an international/intercultural professional environment
- Knowledge of relevant advisory services, contact points, and public authorities
- Experience with administrative and web-based systems (e.g. CMS, TYPO3); willingness to familiarise yourself with additional university systems
- Strong service orientation, high intercultural competence, strong organisational skills, and excellent communication abilities
