Your Role

  • Support our AI & Algorithm Research team, which develops advanced algorithmic solutions for optical systems.

  • Work on the development of a digital twin for optical diffractive networks, leveraging state-of-the-art optical simulation tools and modern machine learning frameworks

  • Help to design and investigate optical diffractive networks for industry-relevant applications, with a particular focus on performance, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability


Profil
  • Motivated and talented student who is eager to contribute to next-generation optical technologies within the scope of a master's thesis

  • Solid background in physics, with a strong focus on optics (especially wave optics)

  • Strong interest in rapid prototyping using Python/PyTorch, combining wave-optical simulations with machine learning approaches

  • Hands-on experience in Python programming, ideally with PyTorch and machine learning applications

  • High level of curiosity, initiative, and creativity, with a willingness to explore new topics independently

  • Good communication skills in English and German
