Aufgaben

As part of the collaborative project MEDABIS-PRO, we are looking for a dedicated PhD student to conduct innovative research in the field of radiobiology at the intersection of proton therapy and magnetic resonance imaging. The goal of the doctoral project is to investigate the biological effects of proton beams in the magnetic field of an MR scanner and to generate scientific insights for future-oriented image-guided radiotherapy.

    Independent work on a doctoral project on the research topic “radiobiological experiments with proton beams in the magnetic field of an MR Scanner”
    Conducting systematic literature research and summarizing the current state of knowledge
    Planning, conducting, and evaluating radiobiological experiments with proton beams in the magnetic field of an MR scanner
    Analyzing, interpreting, and documenting scientific results, as well as developing new approaches
    Presenting and publishing research results at scientific conferences and in international journals
    Providing technical help and scientific supervision to students and interns

Profil
    Master's degree in radiobiology, biology, biophysics, or a related field
    Experience with cell biology methods and biological techniques (in vitro/in vivo)
    Proven practical experience in the laboratory
    Knowledge of radiobiology and/or radiation physics is a plus
    Strong written and spoken English skills

The part-time position (26 hours per week) is available at the earliest possible date, and is limited to three and a half years. Salary is based on the provisions of the applicable labour agreement. Depending on the personal requirements, classification in pay grade E13is possible.
