SRH Hochschule Heidelberg is one of the oldest and largest private uni­versities in Germany. It is state recognized and accredited by the German council of Science and humanities. Currently, 3, 400 students are enrolled at six Schools. The university offers future-oriented courses in economics, computer science, media and design, engineering, social, legal and thera­peutic sciences as well as psychology. At the SRH universities, students learn in a purposeful and independent manner according to the specially developed study concept CORE (Competence Oriented Research and Edu­cation). In compact scienti­fically and practice-based thematic units the students are qualified for profes­sional life by activating teaching as well as competence-oriented exams. The SRH Hochschule Heidelberg is state recognized and accredited by the German Science Council.

For our School of Information, Media, and Design we are seeking a Professor f/m/d Applied Computer Science, at full-time or part-time, to round out our team at our campus in Stuttgart. According to the Baden-Württemberg law of higher education (LHG BW) the position is limited for a period of 2 years.


  • Holding competence-orientied courses in the English-language study programs Applied Computer Science (M.Sc.) and Computer Science (B.Sc.) mainly at our campus in Stuttgart
  • Instructing the students in acquiring the intended competencies, conveying the necessary course content using didactically suitable methods and grading the examination results
  • Supervising research, bachelor and master thesis projects including student mentoring, partner management and publication of selected works in scientific journals
  • Taking responsibility for modules in the two mentioned study programs ranging from the selection and guidance of lecturers to the planning of the sessions
  • Willingness to take up further academic functions, i.e. regional Head of Study Programme, and to participate in the self-administration of the school or university
  • Performing other academic, organizational and administrative tasks

  • At least five years of professional experience in the area of applied computer science or software application development, of which three years must have been conducted outside university
  • Knowledge of the principles of modern software engineering and information system develop­ment, microservices, cloud computing, IT security, applied artificial intelligence, usability engineering, etc.
  • Practical and teaching experience in program­ming languages such as Java, Python, C++, etc.
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science with a focus on software engineering and systems development or in a related field of research
  • Relevant publications and conference contributions in the field of computer science
  • Teaching experience at a university is benificial
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Willingness to actively develop and accompany learning processes according to the CORE principle, as well as an independent and responsible style of working
