Aufgaben

In our kindergarten, we currently work in three groups with up to 21 children aged three to six, using the curricula and materials created by SABIS®. The special feature: In each kindergarten group, you, as the kindergarten teacher, are assisted by an assistant.

You plan activities that meet social, cognitive, physical and emotional needs. In a fun way, you guide children to develop their skills and abilities. You will also encourage children's motor and language skills and the development of personal independence. To do this, you will use nursery rhymes, you will tell stories or use other creative methods, among other things. Supervision during meals as well as rest breaks is also part of your duties.

  • Supervising the students while they learn and play and seeking ways to improve their developmental skills including but not limited to motor skills, language skills, and personal independence.
  • Providing support in duties that may include assessment; substituting for absent teachers; organizing children for lunches, nap time; and other administrative duties that may be assigned by the school management.
  • Discussing student performance and behavioral concerns with the Academic Coordinator as needed and engaging in relevant SABIS® professional development opportunities.
  • Studying and preparing the curriculum to be able to develop the lesson plans for German classes and delivering in-class according to the pre-set pacing charts.
  • Implementing the SABIS Point System® to ensure an environment conducive to learning in the classroom.
  • Providing support by invigilating assessments as needed.
  • Managing report cards on a quarterly basis by entering the information into the SABIS® School Information System (SIS) as well as manually filling an internal report of student performance — all in accordance to instructions of the Academic Coordinator (AQC).

Profil
  • You have a state recognition as an educator, social pedagogue or another comparable qualification (e.g. Bachelor or Master in "Early Childhood Education"). Mandatory here is your recognition in Germany.
  • In addition to business fluent German, you have a perfect command of written and spoken English.
  • You are familiar with the theories and practices of early childhood education and child development. For the children in your care, you always create a safe environment and are familiar with first aid and emergency procedures.
  • Working as part of a team and in an international environment comes easily to you. You are a good communicator, are patient, well organized and can also handle occasional job-related stress well. It is a matter of course for you to adhere to internal school rules and procedures.
